Look into Biodiesel:

It's no joke, I use it in my 2002 VW Golf TDI
100% renewable diesel fuel made from U.S. grown soybeans, or mustard seeds, or rapeseeds, or recycled McDonald's French Fry grease, etc...that's actually better for the motor, and about as toxic to humans as table salt. You could drink it if you wanted to but it probably tastes pretty bad. Oh, and no need to modify your current diesel engine.

I am a student working on renewable energy, most likely focusing on wind power.
If you have any useful information, links, reports or contacts it would be much appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time!
