Dear List,
Does anyone have a solution for displaying native language fonts in GIS
applications? Specifically, we are working on some small projects with
international partners, and the ArcMap data contains layers with
attributes that are in the respective local language (character or
script based). These display as some alien font in ArcMap, even though
our systems are current with all the Windows language plugins. We need
to have the capability to view the native language so we can help with
building a more internationalized version for the clients needs while
retaining the original characteristics of the attribute data. Any
solutions out there would be appreciated. Oh, and getting and
installing, learning "native" versions of Windows or the localized
version of the GIS application is one solution we have thought of, but
that's a very expensive solution that we'd rather then attempt. Thanks
