this line only seems to be making a grey area even more so.
personally, i'm all for open source and freedom to all electrons etc., but the fact is there's no way to shield from the lowest common denominator, being those people who'll do anything if it has the possibility of cash. sometimes known as entrepreneurs, but generally idiots who ruin things for the rest of us.
i don't know the legal issues too well regarding publicly funded enterprise, but i'm sure there's more to it than "if my taxes paid for it, then it's mine". it'd be nice if people could be trusted, but that'll never be the case.
all the werk i have done is as an agent of state government, but i'm wary of who i provide my data to as a lot of werk has gone into it, and i don't want some bastard putting their name on it and making a million from it.
which brings up another interesting point... does that also mean that the people within governments/counties whatever who werk with the data, can then just take it because of the FOIA and sell it off themselves?
i'm sure it happens, but i don't think that's the way the cookie should be crumbling.

The same tax dollars made the $4 million armoured BMW my Head Of Government is buying. Should we expect a ride in it ?
Best Wishes to all who said Yes.
