I am presently looking to implement an ArcView 8.x solution at work. One of the tasks we would like to be able to perform is to produce output maps in an easily distributable format. I am aware of MapPublisher and the use of pmf files and ArcReader. To my mind this limits distribution to people with ArcReader. I also understand that we would need to buy a licence for each user if operating in a single user licence environment as opposed to concurrent licenses.
What I would ideally like is a piece of software that sits on a server and can be accessed by all users to save their map output to a suitable format (perhaps pdf?). If anyone is aware of software that would meet my needs or could suggest an alternate set-up I would appreciate their views?
Many thanks,
John
