Subject: GISList: Problem with AMD or graphics adapter
Date:  12/02/2002 07:29:05 PM
From:  Brian Lipsett

I've run into a problem in ArcView 3.2. Two different machines (both
new hp pavilion ze4145's) running XP home produce errors in writing
polygon files to the screen and to image files. These machines have
mobile Athlons with ATI Radeon XP 1800+ graphics adapter and default LCD
monitors.

ArcView displays errors in the screen image sent to the monitor. These
errors are carried forward to image exports both from the view and from
the layout - ***** but not to print jobs from a layout.***

I have posted a copy of the error produced at
http://www.privey.com/image.jpg. As implied I've tried this on two
different amd/ati radeon based hp laptops of similar makes and vintages
- same problem.

I can't find any reference to this problem in web searches and I think
it may be a problem with my search strategy (I can't think how to
describe this error in search engine terms).

Your help is greatly appreciated.
