Subject: RE: GISList: how to calculate drainage density and reclassification
Date:  12/05/2002 11:30:45 AM
From:  Lega, Robert

Drainage density is the number of miles(or some distance) of permanent stre=
ams per square mile of watershed area.=20=20
D =3D L/A
Where D is the drainage density in miles per mile, L is the length, and A =
is the area in sq/miles

Another, but much less used is Stream density, which is the number of perma=
nent streams pre sq/mile or segments per watershed area...

Personally I like to use the less know Watershed Eccentricity (Black 1972) =
which takes into consideration the unique shape of watersheds.

Dear List,
I want to draw stream net of any basin and calculate drainage density and
reclass of the
calculated drainage density in arc/info. If you share your info with me, I
will be
glad.Thanks in advance.
