Greetings,
I currently work in ArcView 3.2a with the Spatial Analyst extension (as well as others). I collaborate with others (share projects between remote locations) in the ArcView environment. The projection limitations in ArcView and the improved environment of ArcGIS (or so I have heard) have me interested in ArcGIS.
I have several questions to those who have worked in both environments. Is ArcGIS worth the switch as far as the investment time to learn the new program? Is there a significant improvement when working in ArcGIS with projections, map datums, and data units? Can you open a project created in ArcView in ArcGIS and vice versa?
I would like to have both ArcView and ArcGIS on my computer in order to make the best of both worlds. Do you recommend this transition?
Any helpful comments on your experiences thus far would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
DuBose Griffin
