Subject: RE: GISList: Batch metadata tool?

Travis,
Go to http://support.esri.com/. Click
ArcGIS Desktop for Product Support. Then search the knowledgebase for
'Metadata Batch'. This should return hits from a couple areas. The
ArcObjects Online section had 3 hits. Click on ArcObjects Online. The first
entry is titled 'Metadata Batch Importer'. I think this is what you're look=
ing for. Good Luck!

Subject: GISList: Batch metadata tool?

Hi Listers,

Okay, I'm tired of opening up one dataset (coverages and shapefiles) after
another in ArcCatalog (ArcGIS), clicking on 'Metadata', clicking on 'Edit
metadata', and then completing those endless entries and citations: placing
the same information into each and every form with few exceptions. I
literally have several hundred more to go. There's got to be an easier way.

Does anyone know of a way to automate or batch complete such metadata files?
Has anyone else out there run into this and found a viable solution? If I
could just find a way to batch the repetitive content, then I would only
have to manually enter a small amount of individualistic information.

Thanks LARGELY in advance for any ideas/suggestions anyone can offer.

Optimistically,
Travis

:-)
