True to some extent. The problem is you may not need, what you get. So you end up paying for a lot of things you don't need. It all comes down to defining your needs.
But one thing none of us need is slow performance - and that is one facility of ArcGIS, which you can't avoid. I can't give any really qualified comments on Manifold 5 (has still not been installed), but version 4.5 was too slow for handling large datasets. And that is my need.
MapInfo Pro is still my choice #1.
