Hello all Listers:
When you export a layout, there is a check box in the lower left hand corner of the window. It says "Clip output to graphics extent". Check this box. If you have any trouble, let me know. I'm about 90% sure that this works. I tested it against a map and it matched very well. Let me know how this works for you.
