Just for the record, I requested imagery that was published as being in archive already. Maybe I just don't get it, but if something is sitting on a server (getting older by the day), why does it take 120 days to burn a CD ? Even the raw imagery (no correction, etc.) is not readily available. There are hundreds if not thousands of qualified firms that could do the necessary corrections on the raw imagery in days, and at most, a few weeks.
I'm not talking about tasking the bird to take custom images, only really, really deep pockets would think of doing that. If the product isn't ready to ship on request, then don't advertise it as being in archive. I realize that the factors that go into satellite imagery availability go well beyond my knowledge of the subject, but none of that really matters: what matters is that this market segment has started down the path of becoming a commodity, perhaps kicking and screaming all the way, but the first organization to become the Amazon.com/Ebay.com of the imagery market wins.= =20=20
