To everybody in the list. Thanks for your help.
I do not know why I can not calculate the area accuratly of a shapefile. That
is something I will have to work on later.
This is how I solved the problem:
instead of creating a new shapefile I went to acrCatalog and create a new
coverage. Coverages have tables that include the area automatically.
After that the coverage can be converted into a shapefile easily but then the
table already has the area, also we can calculate the acres by adding a field
to the table and right chick and calculate values and then say that the
acres=area/43560 and it calculates the acres automatically.
