I agree, this sometimes works for me. I have also found that I can get
around it by calculating the field, rather than just typing text in the
field.
Out of curiosity, did you create the problem shapefile? For some reason, I
have consistently found this problem in files created/modified in 8.x and
then imported into 3.2 to edit.

Have you converted your theme to a shapefile? If not or even if you did, I
suggest you converted it to a shapefile again and it should work.

Hi folks.
I have a point shapefile that I have added some new points to. No
problem. But when I try to update the theme table, it will not accept
the changes. As soon as I hit enter, the value reverts to its
original, which in the case of the newly added points, is blank. I
tried adding a new field. Also no problem, but anything I enter in
the new column will not stay. I have tried saving edits, even closing
the project and re-opening it, but it still behaves the same. If I
try to edit another theme, everything works as expected. It seems to
be just this one theme. Any suggestions?
