Subject: Re: GISList: Landlot Boundaries in Georgia
Date:  03/21/2003 10:30:01 AM
From:  Olushola

I think you will find this is is the case fo most cities. They now
understand that information is currency and no one gives away money. Cities
have have contracted out the building of their information management
system. These contractors usually have a complete set of public information
in their databases and are willing to sell it to the public. You may find
that your query will be less expensive and time consuming if you contact
these businesses directly.

copyright over their publicly produced data. This leads many of their
agencies to feel free to charge fees for the data over and above
reproduction costs. The data are typically available, but don't be surprised
if you're hit up for some uncomfortable fees to acquire them.
