Hi List. I use the centroid tool in XTools quite a bit. Its good. I have tested several of the ESRI scripts for this purpose, and Xtools wins, in my opinion. What Xtools does not do, or at least I don't know how to do it, is to give you the XY coordinates for those points in the new shapefile's attribute table. This can be very useful, if you are using the centroids for point analysis, etc. An easy way to get the coordinates is with a script called "Add XY Centroid" which is also available at the ESRI site.
