Mike,
A lot will depend on what you need in the way of infrastructure. If you intend to operate an IMS site of some sort, you will need to decide if you want/need a host company that can provide SDE and/or SQL. Monthly hosting costs I've seen have ranged from simple hosting without SDE ($40.00 - $50.00) to full blown IMS support ($500.00 - $1,000.00). This depends on server space you require, anticipated hits on your site, and any other bells and whistles you may require/desire. If you just want to upload data that can be downloaded via FTP, your cost should be toward the lower end of this scale - depending on traffic at your site. These costs are obviously from my own research and experience and are in no way exhaustive of the whole hosting industry.
