Hello.
I am looking for a way to store multiple values per grid cell in my ESRI grids. I have a lot of different meteorological variables for each grid cell (pressure, temperature, winds, etc.) and rather than having multiple grids, one for each variable, I would like to have one grid with all the variables at each cell. I have tried combining separate grids using the "combine" command in the raster calculator. This works fairly well, except the "VALUE" attribute in this instance doesn't make any sense.
I have been using the Ascii import utility to import the grids which only allows me to import one variable at a time (I have not tried importing the separate variables as bands and I do not know if and how that is possible.) It would be ideal if I could import the grid with multiple variables.
Does anyone have any experience with this? For background, the "data" I am working with is Eta forecast model output.
