Dear GeoCommunity,
I am given this Herculean task of determining and giving my opinion on the spatial accuracy of two different landbase layers at County level.
One of them happens to be a standard street centerline information for a County in Georgia from a well known data provider in U.S.A
The other layer is a parcel map from the County office.
Both are projected to NAD83 - SPCS83F.
After overlaying and by visual inspection I found that in certain places the street centerlines are lying over the parcels, street centerlines are found to be incomplete. But the centerline position in relation to the parcel map is pretty good.
I have two options in my mind.
Option1:
Buy some aerial photographs/ satellite imageries (recent one) and overlay the vector data on this raster image and plot them. Then manually verify and look for the missing street centerline information or missing parcel information. Also check the positional accuracy.
Option2: Carry out a GPS survey at pre determined points from the street centerline map (could be street intersections) to determine the positional accuracy.
Can someone help me in suggesting whether I am on the right track?
I will sum up.
Thanks for your reply
Regards SRG
