Greetings GIS-Listers!
I thought many of you may be interested in our free public access Internet
GIS and Satellite Image Visualization System for Baghdad, Iraq, and the
neighboring areas of the Middle East region.

Glenn Letham has been kind enough to include some details about this
resource (as well as many others) for the Iraq/Middle East region on the
Geocommunity portal: http://spatialnews.geocomm.com/features/iraqmaps/
These free sites are powered by our Maplicity products, lightweight (335 kb)
Java applets that offer interactive desktop-like GIS user interfaces with
built-in geographic imaging/visualization tools delivered to an unlimited
number of web browser-based users accessing an ArcIMS map service.
We expect these Baghdad, Iraq, and Middle East regional sites will provide a
valuable resource for various government & non-governmental organizations,
humanitarian relief agencies, educational institutions, and the general
public with an interest in the geography, maps, and imagery of the region.
I would be interested in hearing about your experiences with these sites, so
please feel free to contact me directly. Since we don't currently require
users to register for the sites (a little more intrusive than we wanted to
be in this case), its quite helpful to get some feedback from users beyond
just the numbers (webstats).
