Hi guys, I am using Arcview 3.2 and I want to add the attributes of a point theme to a polygon theme where the 2 intersect. The spatial join IS restrictive. The point theme MUST be selected last and so the join is to the point table! So the quickest way seems to be to insert a uniqueid in the polygon theme, intersect the 2 themes, and join back to the polygon table. (I want to update the polygons not the points). This seems pretty messy tho, is there a script out there that can do this?
The overall object that I am trying to achieve is... Import text and polygons from a DGN file. The text origin falls inside a polygon.
and the process... I export the x,y,text from the DGN into a CSV file using a ustn macro Open the CSV with Excel and save as a dbf file Load the dbf as an event theme and convert to a shape file And finally I want to attribute the polygon with the text where there is a spatial intersection.
I am relatively new to Arcview and maybe I am using the wrong workflow. Help!
cheers Brian
