I have had success with converting using MrSID viewer from Lizard Tech
www.lizardtech.com . I do not remember much about the file sizes, but the
conversion does work well.

Subject: GISList: MrSID images to tiff format
Hi all,
I have some images in MrSID format( approx size 7 MB each)
Since I have Autocad Map which doesnt support MrSID image formats,
I set about converting these images to tiff. But then this tiff size
increases by 10 times( almost 70 Mb).
I need some image manipulation tips/software so as to ---
1. Convert MrSID images to tiff.
2. Maintain tiff image sizes same as that of MrSID images.
My main intention is load these MrSID images into Autocad Map and also
maintain
image sizes less than 15 Mb.
I will sum.
