I don't know what version of Map you are using but it must be an older
version. Current versions of Map and Raster Design natively support MrSID
viewing. That said, Lizardtech can provide you, free of charge a utility
called MrSID decode that will allow you to decode a MrSID file format to
GeoTiff, Tiff,Jpeg, BIP, BIL, BSQ based on selected coordinates. In this
manner you can create smaller images tiles to manage the file size.
I do, however, suggest that you look into upgrading your Map because the
performance is much superior using MrSID files.

Hi all,
I have some images in MrSID format( approx size 7 MB each)
Since I have Autocad Map which doesnt support MrSID image formats,
I set about converting these images to tiff. But then this tiff size
increases by 10 times( almost 70 Mb).
I need some image manipulation tips/software so as to ---
1. Convert MrSID images to tiff.
2. Maintain tiff image sizes same as that of MrSID images.
My main intention is load these MrSID images into Autocad Map and also
maintain
image sizes less than 15 Mb.
I will sum.
