Subject: GISList: SSF file problems
Date:  06/03/2003 10:55:01 AM
From:  Muzrall, Daniel D.

We're using a Trimble Pathfinder Pro XRS to record various features on our
work sites. Recently, a data logger was returned to me to download and
post-process the data through PathFinder Office 2.51. I have run into a
problem though, as several of the data files generate the error "An invalid
attribute has been found in the data file. Invalid attributes will be
ignored." upon opening. I have determined the cause of the problem to be
missing data dictionary information. Is there any way to recover data from
these files? I've tried using the SSF editor, which allows me to view the
contents of the ssf files, and copy data from them, however, I cannot do any
actual editing. In a worst-case scenario, I can extract the locations for
the point data, though I'm not sure how to go about extracting line and
polygon feature data.

Suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

Dan
