I am using ArcView 3.2.=20 I have a polygon shape file that is the Great Lakes. Coarse resolution. I have a line shape file that represents the water's edge (lakeshore as wel= l as rivers and streams). High detail. The lake edges do not go as far inland as the shoreline which means that th= e shore roads are a long ways from the water's edge on my maps. OK when zoo= med out, not so good when zoomed in.
The shoreline is far more accurate and agrees with the roads and villages l= ayers that I have. Is there some way I can buffer or otherwise expand the l= akes polygons out to the line representing the shoreline such that the accu= rate shoreline now becomes the lake edge?=20
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
