atl_altbld.avl <----Legend

atl_altbld.prj <----Coordinate System
atl_altbld.sbn <----Spatial Index of Features
atl_altbld.sbx <----Spatial Index of Features
atl_altbld.shp <----Feature Geometry
atl_altbld.shx <----Index of Feature Geometry
atl_altbld.fbn <----Spatial Index of Features that are READ ONLY
atl_altbld.fbx <----Spatial Index of Features that are READ ONLY
atl_altbld.ain <----Attribute Index of the active fields in a table
atl_altbld.aih <----Attribute Index of the active fields in a table
atl_altbld.xml <----Metadata (Arc8)

Hello all...
I'm wondering if there's a way to set the properties of shape files,
i.e. line style, polygon fill type etc., so that they will stick. So
that when opening each .shp they will be the same no matter what, and
WITHOUT opening an .APR.
