The problem is not being able to trust your users. :) If you are a computer program, how do you know what is true? The only information you have is the information available on the system. Now that we live in heavily network connected days, I would think that a simple stopgap would be to check with a neutral time server. I mean, if I am that dedicated to ripping off an ESRI licence, surely I will be dedicated enough to search my harddrive and redate everythink back to before my false system clock time.
