Environmentalism of the 60's
In 1968 I visited with a couple who had just bought 2.5 acres outside of
Washington DC, in Virginia. They extolled the virtues of country living,
now that they had fianlly be able to flee the urbanscape of DC. In the next
breath, they stated that the county had to stop subdividing the area around
them, so that it would not be despoiled by people from the city.....
