Dear All,
I was baffled by the news comming out from the Decision makers of
the worlds only "Super Power" that the systems used for the Distribution and
Transmission of power are outdated and are "Third world country
Standard".All these allegations after the recent power black out!!!.Iam sure
GIS must have a definite role to play here..Are we all agreeing to fact
pointed out by the decision makers.???Let the enquiry commision comes out
with there report,, but we GIS professionals need to do some introspection
here .When the main the main funstion of a GIS in an UTILITY is supposed to
be indentifying the problem and recomending the possible solutions . why did
all these SCADA/DSCADA mechanism failed to work..Is it that the entire GIS
mechanism collapsed ????...any answers out there..
