I would love to import the Vmap0 vector files to an Illustration program on a Mac as vectors. I can use Mapublisher to import the following formats into Adobe Illustrator:
ArcInfo ungenerate (.lin , .pnt , .pol) ArcInfo Export (.e00) , ArcInfo Shape (.shp) , MapInfo (mid/mif) AutoCad (Dxf) , Microstation (.dgn) , USGS (.do , .opt , .ddf) , ASCII delimited text file
Is there a converter that will make one of these? Do they make it for a Mac? I do have access to a PC but it has no illustration programs on it.
Are there any other vector databases that might be easier. I need to have political boundaries, rivers and lakes as well as the shorelines.
Can you help me here?
I'd appreciate any help I could get.
