I'll try to keep it simple so as not to baffle the easily confused with elementary arithmetic. When 94% of the computers used by humans are running Microsoft operating systems, software writers who desire to have their software widely used (whether they write GIS software or viruses) will write for Windows operating systems.
Considering that Apple has less than 3% share of the computers used by humans, I think it is obvious why virus writers don't bother to target Apple.

I see your familiarity with operating systems is no better than your arithmetic skills. By almost any metric (bugs per line of code, per function, etc.) Microsoft operating systems are far cleaner than alternatives. Dive deep into the Linux threads, for example, and you will see numerous bugs for what is a much, much smaller OS (in terms of lines of code, functions, etc) than, say, Windows 2003. On a pro-rata basis, Microsoft does a better job than most. It is simply the wide popularity of its products that get them more attention than less-used products.
By the way, I didn't chastise a system that allows viruses (I guess you need to sharpen your reading skills as well...) I chastised the foolishness of people who act as if viruses are not a fact of life by relying upon web services.

Is that a note of envy I detect? Not as many shares as I wished I owned! :-) At $26 a share or so it is ripe for buying. The last time I bought into a Microsoft bottom I made tons of money... nothing like getting Bill Gates in harness to make one lots of money.
Regards to all,
Dimitri
