So I've been tossing this around in my mind for awhile - Databases, Progr= amming and "GIS Heavy Lifting" aside...
So how does one fine tune his or her skills in Cartography? ... or what makes a good cartographer
Does one take classes in Color Theory at the local art school? Books to be read? Stare at the "old masters" work for awhile? etc?
I.e. For myself... I have a Bachelors, and a Masters in Geography. Sever= al years of industry experience plus freelance while in college. Member = of several mailing list that deal with the topic. Read as much as I have= =20time for. Have the latest in GIS software on my workstation in my off= ice. Apprenticeship isn't an option. I consider myself a pretty compete= nt Cartographer already, How would I take my skills to the next level?
So, if you think you are an excellent cartographer, how did you get that = way?
Will sum...
