I just got a 1TB storage solution (in a RAID-5 configuration it yields 701 GB usable space) for about $5000. It's a product called the ATAbaby from NexSan (http://www.nexsan.com). I researched a variety of storage solutions, and I liked this one the best. It's got 4 250MB (5400 or 7200 rpm) IDE drives in a RAID array. The unit connects to your existing server through an SCSI connection. You get a lot of storage space for a reasonable price, PLUS the redundancy that comes with a RAID setup.

Hello Listers, Does anyone out there have any experience with Snap Servers? I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of a snap server vs. a regular (lower end) server to provide data back-up for an office of 5 to 6 people.
Thanks in advance, Mary _______________________________________________ gislist mailing list gislist@lists.geocomm.com http://lists.geocomm.com/mailman/listinfo/gislist
