Subject: [gislist] DEM -> slope = missing attribute table ?
Date:  09/05/2003 06:05:01 PM
From:  Rich Finger

Geocommunity,

I'm trying use GIS to locate potential sites for a
helicopter to land. Using DEM's (USGS 7.5 min, 10m x
10m), I'm trying to select areas having specific
ranges in slope (i.e., <10 degrees) I've tried using
ArcMap 8.2, spatial analyist and 3D analyist. After
creating 'slope' in either analyist extension, I find
that I have no attribute table associated with the
file. After opening the TOC and selecting 'open
attribute table' it displays a message stating that it
is building the table, but it doesn't come up. I need
the table so that I can export the areas with the
desirable slope. At one time I had a table for one of
the files so I must be missing something simple... can
anyone help?

Greatly appreciated!

Rich
