Greetings List,=20 =20 I am beginning to trudge through the unfamiliar world of the SDE = database (not to mention rasters) that ESRI has been raging about. We = have spent some time importing and mosaicing dems for Washington and = Oregon. The finished version looks wonderful, and loads in seconds, but = the problem is that I would like to actually take pieces out (I.e. = "Clip") for particular map projects that I am working on. I had = believed that one of the selling points of SDE was not just its = multi-user editing environment, but also, the ability to quickly clip = out portions of grids/rasters that you need. After doing a bit more = investigative research, however, it appears that I have to go through = the SDERASTER -o EXPORT command line to achieve anything close to a = 'clip'. This, finally leads me to my question. the help documentation = lists the usage of the command line syntax as so: =20 ArcSDE 8.2 Raster Utility ------------------------------------------------------------- Usage: sderaster -o export -l <table, column> -v <raster_id> -f <image_file> [-I] [{-w | -e} <minx, miny, maxx, maxy>] [-b <band_number>] [-L <pyramid_level>] [-i <service> | <port#>] [-s <server_name>] [-D <database>] [-u <DB_user_name>] [-p <password>] =20 -w Extraction window in pixel coordinates. -e Extraction window in world coordinates. -I Inverts bilevel images. =20 the commandline that I am using is: =20 H:sdein>sderaster -o export -l forest.sde_andrew.Multistate,image -v = 4 - f forest -e 518591.459506,5305535.92857, 695353.879042, 5432577.33379 -b = 1 -l -1 -s <server_name> -D <database> -u <DB_user_name> -p <password> -i = 5151 =20 As far as I can tell, where I am running into problems is with my = coordinates. I created a clipping box shapefile over the area on the = grid that I wanted to export. I did this believing that I could find = the x.y coordinates and extract only that area. It seems, however, that = I am supposed to find either the "pixel coordinates" or the "world = coordinates". I have a feeling that I am missing a very basic fact = about what this "extract" command is actually doing. I am in no way = confident in the realm of grids or SDE so, if anyone could help me on = this question, it would be GREATLY appreciated. =20 =20 =20 Thanks so much in advance!!!
