Subject: [gislist] GIS-Models for nutrient load assessment
Date:  10/15/2003 06:35:01 AM
From:  Vassil Vassilev

Hi to all Listers,
My University is going to participate in a project related with problems on
using GIS models for assessing nutrients flow from point and non-point
sources into the river network. We have chosen as a case study one watershed
in Bulgaria and will work on scale 1:100 000.
The models that we are going to use should be in relation with Water
Framework Directive (WFD) of the European Union.
As they are many models for diffuse and point sources I will greatly
appreciate any experience from your side concerning the use of GIS models
for nutrient load assessment concerning or not WFD (I completely understand
that most of you are not from Europe). They are many american models that
suits WFD, and frankly they are the base of all other models.
I will highly appreciate if you could share your experience especially of
linking models for point with these for non-point sources, because each of
them is easy to implement by itself, but the combination of both is a
challenge.

Thank you in advance,
V. Vassilev
