Projections (Manifold) experts - help please!
We have been told to use the following parametres
to describe our country's official projection in the old
Esri software:
PROJECTION("Transverse_Mercator"),
SPHEROID("Bessel_1841", 6377397.155, 299.1528128)
PRIME M("Greenwich",0.0),
PARAMETER("False_Easting",500000.0),
PARAMETER("False_Northing",-5000000.0),
PARAMETER("Central_Meridian",15.0),
PARAMETER("Scale_Factor",0.9999),
PARAMETER("Latitude_Of_Origin",0.0),
UNIT("Meter",1.0)
Since we are probably the first buyers
of the Manifold in our country, we need
to know which Esri's parametre category
corresponds to which in Manifold's
Projections menu and what to choose
from drop-down menu:
1) Should I choose from the Manifold's
PROJECTION drop-down menu the
"Transverse_Mercator" option,
or the "Gauss Kruger Zone 5"
option, are they essentially
the same?
2) The chosen SPHEROID ("Bessel_1841")
is the same in both programs, but...
a) do the figures 6377397.155
correspond to the Manifold's
parametre CENTER LATITUDE and...
b) 299.1528128 to the CENTER LONGITUDE,
or do they not?
3) Which parametres from Esri do
correspond to the folowing from
Manifold:
a) LOCAL OFFSET?
b) LOCAL SCALE?
4) Does the Manifold's SCALE
CORRECTION parametre correspond
to the Esri's "Scale_Factor" parametre,
or does it not?
5) The FALSE (northing and easting)
are parametres I don't have problems
with.
