Hi,

I've sent you the following e-mail this morning but it didn't get
posted. I wonder why's that?

Best,

Hello All,

There are a total of 103 people, who participated in the GIS survey.
Thank you all. The survey is based on previous discussions held
over the Internet mostly at the Geo Community site and the
Birkback School of Geography site. While people with opinions
were overwhelming the e-space in these discussions, it seemed to
me that there was a need to capture the real picture and that an
over the Internet survey could be one fast and easy way of taking
such a snapshot.

The first 5 questions in this survey were just copy/paste rather
controversial points made in these discussions. The last two
questions were about your work and education. The purpose of the
survey was to detect questions (the first 5) as issues or non-issues.
It doesn't focus on who are you but rather what you think. For
example, if you think that there should be a formal separation
between GIS users and professionals, do you tend to think that
attaching GIS titles as an addition to existing titles bothers you? In
looking for such tendencies there is a statistical tool called Cross
Tables. In this instance 55% of those who think that there should be
a formal separation are not bothered by the tendency, 20% are
bothered and 25% aren't sure.

The preliminary results and the Cross Tables are at
