Hi ,
I am trying to write an SQL query in oracle spatial to determine the westernmost point in the united states.
Given - the shapes(SDO_GEOMETRY) of all the states in the US.
One approach i have tried is to find the point where the shape of hawaii (westernmost state) touches the MBR of the entire US. This would be the necessary point ... but i havent been able to write a query to do this.... And i know this neednt be the only approach.
anybody out there know how to do this ?
