Subject: Re: [gislist] GPS enabled/compatible Digital Cameras
Date:  11/17/2003 01:05:01 AM
From:  Jim Reed

Another option is to use just about any digital camera and any gps unit,
then use

Photo Studio, a free program to link the two together.
http://www.stuffware.co.uk/photostudio/

Photo Studio relates the time stored with the image to the time gathered
from a GPS track. (Make certain that you set the clock on the camera to the
time on the GPS unit.) Photo Studio then updates the metadata associated
with your photo to include the lat/lon data.

Use G7ToWin, also a free program from:
http://www.gpsinformation.org/ronh/
to download the track from your GPS.

As mentioned earlier, GPS PhotoLink, a $229 program, shows track or waypts
in Arcview and then shows photo thumbnails on cursor hover and a link to
html.
