Dear Graeme,
I think the person whose question you posted is indeed referring to
topology, the branch of mathematics that studies the properties of
geometric figures and solids that do not change when stretched or bent.=

This is what made ArcInfo so powerful, it was based on topological
relationships and used mathematical wizardry to deal with the many
different and incompatible projections commonly used to map our earthen=

sphere onto 2 dimensions.

There must be several software titles that do what your querist request=
s.
The one I am most familiar with is the ESRI suite of software products
which will soon include ArcGlobe for 3 dimensional viewing of spinning
planetary spheres. Perhaps SimEarth might provide your poster with the=

micro-macroscopic view of the emerging landscape s/he is creating. Wit=
h
SimEarth one can, pixel by pixel, create landscapes that aggregate into=

continental masses. Some care needs to be taken to reduce random creat=
ion
of landscape resources, but with a bit of tweaking it could provide wha=
t is
needed (and more.)

If neither of these are practical solutions, feel free to pass on my
contact info and I can help brainstorm other sources.

Hi all,
I have an arcinfo 8.0.1 working on MS windows XP. When I want to create=
arc
attributes
from TABLE EDITOR I am getting the following message:

AN ERROR HAS OCCURED IN ROUTINE: INIT <EDIT_FAT.AML>.

I couldn't understand why. Must I use MS windows 2000 instead of XP. Is=

there any remedy
for this.
Thanks all.
