Hello fellow list readers,
I have downloaded and used Jeff Jenness's great utility for finding the nearest neighbour (http://jennessent.com/arcview/nearest_features.htm). It is simply amazing. However, I need something that goes one step beyond. Does anyone know if there is something that will actually select the nearest n points, so that they can be converted to a new shapefile? (Jeff - is this a possible enhancement?)
My use is this: I want to divide up a network of weather monitoring locations into groups of 40-50 so that each service tech has a "territory". Or is there another utility that would take a set of points (350+ spread across a large geographic area in this case) and divide them into groups based on some criteria such as max distance from centroids or by min/max number of points in a territory, or something like that?
Thanks,
Rick
