hey Group: =20 I am currently using an HP Workstation xw4100 with a P4 2.8 that is = running hyper threading. What I have found is that neither AV 3.x nor 8.x = can access both threads: however, my system still has resources so that I = can continue to run multiple applications without it slowing down too = much. It is better than having a single processor but not as fast as dual = processors would be. If someone knows how to force AV to access both = threads please let me know. =20 =20 =20 =20 Mr. Layne Seely GIS Analyst CHIANG, PATEL & YERBY, INC. 1820 Regal Row, Suite 200 Dallas, Texas 75235 214.640.1736 (Direct) 214.638.3723 (Fax) LSeely@cpyi.com

I ask this in response to the following footnote on the spec sheet for the desktop
**The Hyper-Threading feature is a new technology designed to improve performance of multi-threaded software products: please contact your software provider to determine software compatibility. Not all customers or software applications will benefit from the use of hyperthreading
Processor: Choice of IntelR PentiumR 4 with Hyper-Threading** or IntelR CeleronR=20
