You might want to use Frank Warmerdam's build of OpenEV for viewing and conversion, available at:
ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/gdal/openev/OpenEV_161_FW.zip
It has direct support for HDF files and even exports to DTED. A person who works with hdf files all the time couldn't believe that I was opening and displaying large HDF files on my notebook that he worked with on a desktop workstation. Excellent software from Frank, as usual.
Cheers,
sonny

I have downloaded some data -->from the NASA web site which is in *.hdf format. --> -->I have tried to convert the data so that it can be read in -->ArcView using Geotiff4 but I keep getting error messages. Has anybody else -->had that problem. --> -->Also does anybody know any other 3d data of Israel or any other -->methods of making hdf files read in ArcView --> -->thanks -->Alex Thomas -->_______________________________________________ -->gislist mailing list -->gislist@lists.geocomm.com -->http://lists.geocomm.com/mailman/listinfo/gislist --> -->_________________________________ -->This list is brought to you by -->The GeoCommunity -->http://www.geocomm.com/ --> -->Get Access to the latest GIS & Geospatial Industry RFPs and bids -->http://www.geobids.com
