Dear List
Thanks to everybody who helped me out with getting 3d data for Israel =
and downloading it. I think that there was some problem with my =
computer timing out. I have finally downloaded the ASTER data and =
converted it into a DEM file, however when I go the Arc Toolbox in =
ArcView it will only allow me to convert the DEM file to a grid if I =
have a USGS file, which I obviously don't. How does one convert the DEM =
file to a grid or otherwise get the data in a viewable form in ArcView??

I am starting a project which will involve building a 3d layer of all, =
or at least part of Israel. I have downloaded some data from the NASA =
web site which is in *.hdf format. =20
I have tried to convert the data so that it can be read in ArcView =
using Geotiff4 but I keep getting error messages. When I downloaded the =
data originally using the ftp, it told me that I had 23megs of data to =
download, but after I had downloaded 7 megs it told me that the download =
was complete. I am thinking that that might be the reason for the =
errors. Has anybody else had that problem.
Also does anybody know any other 3d data of Israel or any other =
methods of making hdf files read in ArcView
