Vassil,
I'm not a ArcInfo user so can only address your question in general terms. I am assuming your river and point data has an elevation component. If so, how about this:
- Convert (or export) your DEM to an xyz point file. - Extract points from the river polylines and combine with your other elevation point data. - Combine the two data sets - Using the combined data set create a new DEM
