I too have had this problem. The only work-arounds that I have found = are 1.) use a different computer with lots more RAM, 2.) subset the = grids into smaller pieces. If anyone else has another option, I would = be interested in learning about it.
Good Luck, dt=20

Hello all, I try working with the Fragstats-Program in order to calculate some = landscape metrics. I have several ArcGrids, they are of a rectangle form = with a number of aprox. 4000x5000 pixels (and smaller) and a resolution = of 1x1m. The landscapes I would like to calculate have all unregular = shapes and big parts of the grid are "No Data"-Values. There are also = some NO DATA values inside the landscape.=20 When I now want to execute the calculation of landscape metrics, the = computer crashes down and the system is reinitialized. This happens only = with bigger grids, for some smaller grids with the same properties the = calculation executes without problems.=20 What may be the problem? I also tried writing class properties file or I = asigned a background value to the NO DATA values etc. but it doesn=B4t = help.=20 Perhaps you have had similar experiences and may detect the error. Thank you ANika
