Subject: RE: [gislist] .gra files
Date:  03/07/2004 10:10:01 AM
From:  Sonny Parafina

I used to print the .gra file to a file using the HP driver.

Then at the DOS shell command prompt I would use the DOS copy command to
send the file to the plotter, e.g. copy /B myPlot1.prt LPT1 (you will need
to check the syntax)

This method avoids the printer queue and all the error that entails. What is
useful is that you can use a batch file to automate the printing.

-->I am using ArcInfo 8.3 and an HP DesignJet 1055CM Plus.
-->
-->I was sent over 150 .gra plot files to print out on my plotter. I am
-->having trouble getting good maps on a consistent basis. When I go to
-->ArcGIS>ArcInfoWorkstation>Print, my ArcPress Driver doesn't seem to have
-->a device setting that it likes. As the quality is terrible. My
-->PostScript driver doesn't have 1055CM as an option in its PPD file and
-->it seems to take a long time to print (if it ever prints). I have had a
-->little success with my Windows driver. It prints out one good map and
-->then on the second job it wants to jam my printer queue and I end up
-->having to shut down my computer (and all of its other processes).
-->Again, I have over 150 of these files and this is not a very effective
-->way to do it. Has anyone else worked with this problem?
