Subject: RE: [gislist] Drainage density
Date:  03/17/2004 08:55:01 AM
From:  Lega, Robert

I have no extension, but a simple calc will do...

Dd =3D L/A=20
Dd( D sub d) is the drainage density in miles per mile
L is the length of streams in miles
A is the area in square miles.=20

In general the greater the value of DD, the more efficiently the =
watershed is drained.

GoodLuck,
RSL

Subject: [gislist] Drainage density

Dear All,
I'm trying to calculate the drainage density for a drainage network, I=20
used the the drainage / lineament /road analyst extension for Arc view=20
but something went wrong. If any one has used this extension and make=20
work, could tell me the steps in detail how he/she used it or any other=20
way how can I calculate drainage density in Arc view or Arc Gis.
regards
Mohamed
