=0D If you need zoom functionality (on users machines) for your online maps, then you may call your gif files from within any vector stuff (Flash, SV= G or VRML) or alternatively create a small Java applet for this purpose and serve your image through it.=0D =0D Another alternative is server side zooming-in/out. Then you should use so= me of available tools (see below) or write a small script (Perl|PHP|ASP|Cold fusion) for your server.=0D =0D Using zoom functionality of vector formats may take longer time to load w= hen initialized because an entire image has to be loaded before it can be zoo= med in. But once user has the image loaded then one can zoom anywhere without reloading.=0D =0D Some examples/solutions/ideas:=0D zoom in flash - http://www.veer.com/zoom/=0D image zoom in php and flash (state-of-art) - http://www.sephiroth it/file_detail.php?id=3D127=0D zoom-in/out java applets for images/maps - http://www.ruegenwalde com/map/index.htm=0D http://www.obs-us.com/people/mihai/imgview.html=0D http://www.vivaorange.com/page9.asp=0D http://www.uta.edu/library/ccon/jhelp.html=0D =0D regards=0D Viktoras=0D =0D =0D =20 _______________________________________________ gislist mailing list gislist@lists.geocomm.com http://lists.geocomm.com/mailman/listinfo/gislist
