If you need zoom functionality (on users machines) for your online maps,
then you may call your gif files from within any vector stuff (Flash, SV=

or VRML) or alternatively create a small Java applet for this purpose and
serve your image through it.=0D

Another alternative is server side zooming-in/out. Then you should use so=

of available tools (see below) or write a small script (Perl|PHP|ASP|Cold

Using zoom functionality of vector formats may take longer time to load w=

initialized because an entire image has to be loaded before it can be zoo=

in. But once user has the image loaded then one can zoom anywhere without
