In AV 3 there is a designated folder for storing scripts such as the divide2.avx mentioned below. Where should scripts be stored in AV 8.3? I haven't found an obvious place. Thanks,
M. Stutz

Original question: I am looking for a script or extension for AV 3.x that could perform the following function:
I have several segments (around 30 m long) and I would like to create points every meter along each one of these segments. I was if there was a script or extension that could automatically do it for me.
I would like to thank to everyone who spent some time and effort in replying to my email. Here are the answers I got:
Edward Coppeland, sent the divide2.avx and it worked pretty well.
Philip Greyson sent this link to another extension. I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet: http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=11407 It creates a new shapefile of points spaced at a user-defined distance along a line.
Korine R. Leonard: suggested to look for some literature: "This is called "dynamic segmentation", and should find plenty of help in books or online on how to do it."
Srikanth.P: suggested and ArcInfo method: "In ArcINFO u can do it by a single command. it splits with a specified interval in the coverage units"
Thanks again to everyone.
Best Regards
Humberto Perotto
